CUSAT is one of the select institutions to host a FABLAB inhouse set up with the support of Kerala Startup Mission. A Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention which aims at providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship and serves as a platform for learning and innovation. Fab Labs provide access to the environment, the skills, the materials and the advanced technology to allow anyone anywhere to make (almost) anything.
The Fablab will provide the students and startups easy access to digital fabrication technologies. The main aim is to foster the culture of making and entrepreneurship among our stakeholders.
Fablab mainly comprises of Laser Engraver, Top Notch 3D Printers, CNC Milling Machine with scan unit, Vinyl Cutter, Dexter boards etc. Also An Electronic workbench is available consisting of digital oscilloscope, function generator, electronic microscope, soldering station etc. with their components.

Each machine is charged per hour of use and the costs for each machine is based on nominal operation costs. Both the machine and the consumables can be booked online.
